Is Mew the one you insisted we listen to? I gave it a go. In fact I played it twice. I like that it's really 3 songs for the price of one (very Stereolab). Not enough to tick it though, sorry.

Mew - Not really my thing, but I'm surprised they weren't more successful.

iio was alright, but not up to a tick - is 'Rapture' along later?

Fatman Scoop - Awful. An obnoxious song that you couldn't get away from in 2003.

Okay, totes belated Why You Should Listen To This spiels:

Advance: my obligatory Total Indulgence pick, and probably the most obscure thing I will nom for the entire decade, haha. Shimmering, pulsing, slow-building idm, absolutely gorgeous. When the final rush of tumbling, lush sonics from abt 4 mins hits it's like floating on golden clouds.

Animal Chin: technically fusion jazz or something, I guess (WAIT COME BACK), in the Ninja Tune sense of the word. Excellent tumbling d&b beat, sunbright, absolutely joyous bursts of melody; it's the ultimate midsummer noon tune, honestly. (And it's about 10 times better than I probably make it sound, heh.) Also, the video is omg so adorable I could DIE.

The Mew you should listen to because it is ONE OF THE GREAT CLASSICS OF THE DECADE. (The whole of Frengers is, really.)


I would say ALL MUST TICK BE FAITHFUL but, uh, I can understand finding Scoop unbearably annoying. (I just don't, myself. :))
