Nothing at all, nothing that I do: REPORTING BACK

Last night [livejournal.com profile] piratemoggy and I took time out of our busy schedule to attend the Popjustice £20 prize, which was won by Girls Aloud for the grillionth time as predicted by everyone.

Looking at the shortlist, I personally thought that only a few songs on there were actually better than 'The Promise' ('The Fear', 'Beat Again' and 'Up').

The annoying thing is that if half the judges had united behind one of these songs then I think we could have had a different winner, but instead a significant number of dudes insisted on gunning for Calvin Harris and his 'killer rave drug ecstasy music'. When it came down to a choice between 'The Promise' and 'I'm Not Alone' there really wasn't much the rest of us could do - the predictable result won out over the unforgiveable result.

Anyway, I ended up menacing Nicola with a stuffed fox - she ran away in fear/disgust mere seconds before I took a photo, which due to technological ineptitude on my part I am unable to post at the present time. Fail here displayed:

Sigh. A commendable effort from you two though!

- Did anyone rep for the Crazy Cousinz remix of Alesha Dixon? It is the most excellent thing associated with any of the shortlist.
- What is a Calvin Harris fan like? And what on earth do they see in him?

Do you mean "gunning for" as in repping for, or the other, more appropriate kind?

That fox was in our garden (http://dubdobdee.livejournal.com/236081.html) last night: obviously she was sad she didn't get to kiss nicola!

the big question is though, how gay* is nicola?

*this is an age-old schoolyard technique involving holding yr hand over someone's head and silently counting until they look up. the number you reach is how gay they are. cheryl cole is officially 57 gay according to this method, proved at the 2004 (?) popjustice £20 prize (the only one NOT won by girls aloud).

I can't believe you were that close to a girls aloud (sigh)

I had been hoping the photo might be of Nicola (♥♥♥)...
