2001 supplemental

Now that the nominations for 2001 with their new, evil restrictions are closed, let's talk REGRETS. What non-charting tracks do you wish you'd had extra nom slots for? Here's your chance to rep for those you had to give up (because I know for me, 90% of the point with some of them was that public declaration of devotion, rather than any belief they'd have even remote a chance of garnering votes).

The ones that really smarted for me were these two utter obscurities:

Múm: Please Sing My Spring Reverb (Arovane remix)

Lovely, delicately tinkly idm! It's ridiculous how much I love those things. (The latter singlehandedly turned me onto Arovane, and all.)

Other, but not as bitter regrets are Gaelle's 'Rain' and the Bonobo remix of Pilote's 'Turtle':





(as a footnote the original of the Múm is also quite lovely -- it's just that the AMX is LOVELYX10)

Missy Elliott - Whatcha Gon' Do (this one is SEVERELY underrated and I think I go back to it more than I do the So Addictive classics - that bassline is unstoppable! and her growls are so dirty! Artists who missed out completely...Dungeon Family, Outkast-affiliated production collective whose Even In Darkness is a woefully lost hip-hop gem.





And I'm really surprised no one nominated Rufus Wainwright! I'm not the hugest of fans but this is easily my favourite song by him:
