It's back to being a four way tie but one vote now might see him home safe.

I fear that D&C might well run away with the tiebreak :( Seriously it's a fun song but when was the last time anyone actually wanted to listen to it? I haven't even bothered to acquire an mp3 of it in the past nine years!

All my favourites are nowhere near contention :( Artful Dodger, True Steppers, So Solid Crew - really thought they'd all do better. Or at least better than Daphne and sodding Celeste.

And 'Most Girls' is getting SCREWED!!!!! Would rather see that progress than DMX tbh.

But DMX could get through with a second place in the tie-break, since the tie is for fourth place. And I don't think it's a given that Daphne & Celeste run away with it. I've never thought that D&C's music did justice to their personalities, though obviously it helped to convey those personalities. (Whereas L'Trimm sound as great now when I replay them as they did in their day.)

Well, if things hold here with DMX at 21, I still have a few votes withholding from Madonna and (more likely) Alizee and Daphne and Celeste. I'm assuming that a tie for fourth effectively becomes 4th and 5th place?

Potential bad news for At The Drive-In

Yes, unless it's a three-way or four-way tie.

Oops, Madonna is at 21 now, so DMX and Madonna have the last two spots if nothing changes.

Oh for god's sake, now I have to go and change my vote to ATDI just to try and stop one of Madonna's worst songs going through.

Edit: Wait, no, hang on, I have to switch my sarcasm filters on. Srsly tho, Music is a rubbish song.

Music still makes me want to brush my teeth in the river

[personal profile] koganbot 2009-06-22 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
(Well, what I was referring to was that Dave had switched his vote from the Alizee to At The Drive-In even though he preferred the Alizee. He was afraid that the Alizee vote would put DMX at risk. So what I was telling him was that he could now dump At The Drive-In and go back to Alizee without putting DMX at risk. But then the extra vote for "Music" and three extra for "Ooh! Stick You" threw that out of whack. Right now "Party Up" and "Music" are tied for fifth. But if you wanted to defeat "Music" you could do so by switching one of your votes to "Party Up," assuming that you like "Party Up.")

I think the telethon had the wrong effect: it's pushed Daphne & Celeste ahead of both Madonna and DMX. Ugh.

Eh, maybe Daphne & Celeste doesn't hold up as well as some of the others (in fact, it definitely doesn't), but it's such a document of its times that it probably deserves to make it through, at least in my opinion. Anyways, I switched my vote back to it, because I dislike strategic voting in general. It will make me sad if Dave's strategic vote keeps Alizee out of the runoff vote.

I'll make sure I'm not responsible for keeping Alizee out of a run-off -- before I was just putting her into a run-off for fifth, but now I'd need to give her vote BACK to put her in the running for fifth (I think at this stage Alizee will at least take a bunch of votes away from Madonna).
