"Bust a Move" 20 Years Later

Chris Weingarten interviewed Young MC about "Bust a Move" for Rolling Stone.

Somewhat slight, but he makes a good point about how there are no "oldies rap stations" (there should be!). My favorite line, though:

I will preface this by saying I'm a lifelong Democrat. But pre-9/11, in 2001, Bush was taking a lot of vacations down to the ranch. And the press secretary at that time, Ari Fleischer, got drunk at a party at the ranch and did "Bust A Move" on karaoke. They said he was actually good, and it made US News & World Report. The kids who were listening to it then are now gainfully employed.

Ha, it gets played seriously all the time on the "oldies dance" station up here. It's called like "Movin 102" and plays slightly outdated pop hits as well as dance/pop-rap stuff from the 90s.

it's a very interesting comment and debate but..

...all I can think is 'I'm old old old old old if Bust A Move is 20yrs old!'
