Numba 1

Here's some cheering er, reggae'n'b to warm you up on this cold winter night: Kardinall Offishall and Keri Hilson take on such luminaries as Blondie, Billie Piper and Atomic Kitten* with their version of The Paragons' 'The Tide Is High'. It's banging! Also tacked on to the end is a bit of 'Nina', which samples an old ska tune that I can't remember the name of but is prominently featured on Jungle Mania '94 with some extra snare drum on the top.

As ever, I suspect this has been around in the States for a while, but it's getting a UK release in a couple of weeks.

*It's been four years since AK released a proper single! How time flies etc.

Is this the same Kat I knew from uni? Oh dear. This sucks badly.

Katona >>> Hilson

This is rub. They've even left out the "Get the Feeling" section. Sacrilege!

;)

the he said/she said aspect of this is so fascinating! it's so much more-- macho, i guess, the drums and the sirens and then the twist in lyrical focus, so it becomes about denying the woman's desire for power over him.

(also: "just gotta work on your physical fitness!")
