MOBOs

Estelle, Leona and Dizzee all won stuff, well done them. But the best bit of that news story is about the lifetime achievement award given to Motown:

The honour was accepted by The Supremes singer Mary Wilson, who performed a medley of hits as well as a collaboration with current girl group Sugababes.

“I do believe that The Supremes have really influenced people like the Sugababes and Beyonce’s group,” she said.

She must have been in Diana Ross' group then.

Miss Wilson was in "Diana Ross's group" - a lot longer than Diana Ross was. Guinness Book of Hit Singles shows number of weeks on UK charts: Diana Ross (with The Supremes) 224 weeks; Mary Wilson 306. The total for the group was 306. So Miss Wilson managed 82 weeks in the UK charts without Miss Ross in the group. They were a great team and have both reached 50 years in the business - they are BOTH to be congratulated.
