Is this going to happen every year from now on?

RADIO 1'S SEKRIT MASTERPLAN TO RUIN XMO EVERY YEAR

1. Approach festive season.

2. Find godawful acoustic dirge.

3. Promote g.a.d. as tiny alternative indie underdog to juggernaut of Xmas tat.

4. Play tiny alternative indie underdog fvcking incessantly. Play juggernaut of Xmas tat 0 times.

5. Watch as indie underdog gets to No.1

6. HURRAH FOR REAL MUSIC

This year the injustice seems less than in the horrible winter of Gary Jules because - even though Nizlopi is actually MUCH WORSE than "Mad World" was - there's not any actually good records it's keeping off the top (The Frog was never going to beat Westlife, eheu). Even so this smarts.

Two final points. First off, no five year old knows who Bruce Lee is. Second off, every five year old wd prefer "Jingle Bells (Nim Nim)" to "The JCB Song".

I still haven't heard the JCB song, a state of affairs I would like to continue for as long as possible.

I was about to say that Girls Aloud are releasing the best Chemistry single yet for Xmas but you don't like 'See The Day' do you :(

(Was there ever a Euroboshing cover of 'Mad World'?)

They are playing the JCB song quite a lot on The Hits at the moment, too. I fully expect to be struck off the Poptimists list for saying this but I Quite Like It. It's about dinosaurs and Transformers!

I only saw it for the first time this weekend. The video is actually quite charming!

that was how it started, it is an "interweb phenomenon" apparently.

[identity profile] dubdobdee.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
i actually never worked out the QUICK way to do LJ links (if there is one) so i always go to VIEW SOURCE and cut and paste the html, which = v.lengthy but does allow you to write anything you want in the bit between the pointy things

[identity profile] carsmilesteve.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
aha, the quick way is >lj user="namehere"<

Call me Mr Contrary but I like The JCB Song quite a bit - and a lot more than Jingle Bells (Nim Nim), which doesn't have nearly enough Frog or nim nim on it.

"See The Day" is better than both of 'em though.
