Now 68

Hello everyone, I've finished camping and frolicking around London, so it's time for MOAR NAO.

[Poll #1238616]

Also, does anyone know how to change text size on Opera? I just accidentally shrank mine twice.

This is a great NOW. Pop music was awesome in the last half of last year!

Opera: - and + control the zoom, so you might have accidentally hit that.

Another way, at least if you run Windows and have a scrollwheel: ctrl + scrollwheel up/down increases/decreases view size. Easy to do by accident. (Also works in lots of other apps than Opera.)

Let's talk about slow burns

Looking at this track listing now my favourites immediately leap out - 'The Way I Are' and 'Bleeding Love' - but I don't think I would have picked either at the time, both took months to grow on me. Or, more accurately, I found myself continuing to play both obsessively, long after a bunch of other good tracks here had been consigned to "last played August 2007", and suddenly realising just how great they were. I think what continues to draw me to both is that I still can't quite put my finger on what makes them GREAT, not just good - I think these slow burn songs might ultimately be a lot more rewarding than eg 'Sexy! No No No' which is good obv, but I have no desire to really hear it ever again.

Also, the album version - which is the one I have - is REALLY SHORT and only contains two Keri Hilson choruses, so I've never actually been sated by the time it ends. Cue REPEAT.

Yes. I have also spent many hours wandering around tunnels in the London Underground network singing "baby, it's all right, you ain't gotta flaunt for me" etc.

For me it's Big Girls Don't Cry, which I found really bland at first but gradually crept up on me over several months to the extent it's one of my favourites now. I think it's lack of the usual Fergie bonkersness that made me underestimate it at first.

Absolutely - when I was raving about the album way back in 2006 (!) then I definitely thought this was one of the weaker tracks (it was the Blanket, I admit it) but it's such a grower. Sh1t video though.

The credits on the back of the 12" sleeve saus "I Found U" contains portions of 'Natural Collie' by Freddie McGregor. If that means anything to you.

I don't understand the question above the third text box [/old person].

It's all Richard Branson's fault, apparently

Did everyone see this (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/aug/09/popandrock.nowthatswhaticallmusic) btw?

I think it was the APE commercial that got this one on the NOW comp.

New Order is slightly ahead of Nazareth at the moment.

Surprised that the Freemasons did so poorly. Less surprised that I was the only one to vote for "Waiting 4." Btw.

That second list is probably the worst portion of a Now CD EVER. Oh sweet jaysus... Blunt + Faulkner + Hoosiers + Scouting For Girls + Plain White T's + dull-as-ditchwater house = ARGGGGHHHH.

Woo-hoo! A Now Poll I can actually take part in as it is taking place.

I was the only one to vote for Amy McDonald and Mika!?

I like Amy's voice and style, just couldn't get behind that particular song. Ticked her a couple times in year in pop, however.
