miss_newham asked on her LJ yesterday about worst band names: my Europop 2008 (France v Russia now up - two very fine Europop tracks) research has uncovered a serious contender, hailing from sunny Greece:
After years in the wilderness, working, getting married, acquiring debt, having kids, the members of Pony Chair Black found themselves dissatisfied, ordinary, lost.
Pony Chair Black chose to escape – through music.
Pony Chair Black’s songs are emotionally-charged stories deceptively presented in pop wrapping. Catchy tunes that tell tales of lives spent living, loving, losing, despairing and, just occasionally, winning.
There is always a choice. Choose Pony Chair Black.
Tom, that's not so bad. At least the name makes me curious as to how the band sound, which is more than I can say for From Bubblegum To Sky or Does It Offend You, Yeah or Infernophonic or Minus The Bear or Bum Kon or sBach or Mugison. I vote Does It Offend You, Yeah as the worst, maybe not of all time, but worst to appear in my email inbox in June 2008.
We Scream Cock Tales should do a gig with You Say Party! We Say Die! (which is actually a name I like, though it'd make more sense as a Fall Out Boy track title).

Mind you, a bloke from It Hugs Back just came into the office and I wanted to take him aside and have a quiet word...

I've never heard any of these, mind you.
