Does the world really need a Japanese-Swedish Lily Allen?
This was a question posed on last night's Lollards Of Pop radio show about Maia Hirasawa - technical issues are preventing us putting the radio programme up yet (sadface) but it was awesome. And is this awesome? You decide! Given the scando mafia I hear so much about I'm astonished this hasn't come up before - here's the video, rather disturbingly set in what looks to be a train station gent's toilet. Ewww.
And a predictable Christmas plea: now is a very good day to send your 10 TRACKS OV THE YEAR to leagueofpop@gmail.com, since I am hungry for diversions from the tedious process of packing.

Maia is also a member of Hello Saferide, a very cute Swedish indie-pop band with great lyrics. However, if you're looking for great Swedish pop you should look for Lykke Li, she's going to be huge I think and is pretty similar to Robyn.
