The Poptimists Advent Calendar Day 2

Before I post the Exciting New Poptimists Feature starting today I should attend to the exciting old poptimists feature I started yesterday, so...

Peter And The Test Tube Babies - I'm Getting Pissed For Christmas

A bleak song and the bleakest part comes at the end, with Peter & Co's banter referencing a particular celebrity which makes you realise that they've been doing this - almost exactly this - for at least 20 years. So the "no future" in the chorus has become a little talisman, one that actually means "a future precisely like the present, please". Still, what's Christmas without a little ritual?

Meanwhile, entirely non-Advent related but we need to keep a lid on the number of posts cluttering up your flists, here's a Eurobosh cover of Simple Minds, as requested by [livejournal.com profile] boyofbadgers.

Eurobosh > original, but I'm still not sure if I like it much. Tho it has made me long for a microgoth version of Hunter and The Hunted or NGD.

There's a bit halfway through (Pissed For Christmas) when they play Auld Lang Syne and someone wolf whistles, where it briefly turns into Hoots Mon.
