Exciting news!

I was just reading a Danish newspaper online and it said that Aqua are preparing to make a comeback! Gosh!

This is great, even if it's just a tour. There is no day and no Lj group that cannot be made better by talking about AQUA. The following things need to be outlined:

1. The first Aqua album really is one of the most consistently excellent parades of euro-pop songcraft ever.

2. The second Aqua album is patchy but has the AMAZING "Halloween" on it which is really worth your while to track down.

3. While cheap-sounding and hasn't dated very well, even though it's only four years old, the Lene Nystrom solo album "Play With Me" is still cheerful and amusing fun, contains some amazing songs on it such as "It's Your Duty", "Virgin Superstar", the definitive version of "Here We Go" (miles better than Girls Aloud's) and the completely ridiculous "Paper Bag" which if you haven't heard I should perhaps post.

No idea at all. WBS has been on facebook recently, so he's still on the net. I was wondering if blurbs were short for everything, in which case I'd come out of semi-retirement to do something. Maybe the 'box is taking a mental health week off.

Quite enjoy lyrical bonkaciousness, and the tune is good too, though Lene's vocals are less extreme than I remember from Aqua.

Yes! I was converted to Europop by Aqua. I even saw them live at a DAnish festival once and heard some songs from their lost third album (there was one about Shakin' Stevens). I still think they didn't release it because they couldn't think of a good enough title beginning with 'Aqua'.

Has anyone in the world heard any of René's solo stuff?

If they tour we must go! I see from wikipedia they have an unreleased song called Shakin' Stevens (Is A Superstar)...it's a crime this hasn't seen the light of day.
