we dont hate "urban" music. if you mean actually street music etc. we bum grime for example.

we just hate american 'slinky r&b', with all the corniness and slow-motion oiled up sex in the videos because it doesnt run in line with the british way of having sex. we just find that kind of thing really, really lame and cant relate to it.

its less "hate" and more "taking the absolute piss" because we just dont take that kind of thing very seriously. and as someone rightly pointed out upstairs, its not exclusively black music anyway. there's a lot more to black popular culture than women in thongs grinding around.

yeah i know british people are rubbish at sex, it's not something to brag about.

but if anything british people hate "proper" urban street music even more than poppy r&b! When was the last time something like Crime Mob or TI charted? And they definitely hate grime, look at its astounding commercial success innit. I'd also put MIA's almost total lack of sales down to racism too.
