I believe this is what the kids call a 'summer smash': Will.i.Am's new effort (embedding disabled for some reason)

And here's Sean Paul and Eve (who is wearing some truly hideous leggings):

Oh my christ, it's a catsuit not just leggings. :O

Ooh blimey.

That Will.I.Am should so very not be good but I find myself enjoying it more every time I play it, provided I don't watch it because something about Will.I.Am on the beach just looks totally implausible.

Is it bad I just saw a video marked 'Justice and Reconciliation in Iraq' and spent a good three seconds assuming it was some new Ed Banger output? (answer: yes)

Ooh err, the kaleidoscope bit in the Will.I.Am video's a bit lewd innit, actually?

I have NO WORDS to describe that. NONE. Oh my god.

Hideous catsuit notwithstanding, the Eve video is terrific! Breezy and light like the song, and she looks good with Sean Paul. Have been increasingly addicted to the song recently - I am SO AMPED for her album now. Surely there will be a 'Give It To You (Part 2)'? Because, like...she sets up this narrative arc really perfectly, the deliriously unexpected loverush in the first verse and a half (but Eve always sounds tough, so the words are even more effective from her), the lovely call-and-response chorus, perfectly in time with each other...then she suddenly undercuts it, pulls the rug from under our feet with the phone call from Tiffany - and then she STOPS! So the listener is basically left hanging! Instead of a resolution (does she bitchslap Sean? does she have a girlfight with Tiffany? does she go and cry somewhere? does she accept it as part of life?) she swings back into light and breezy mode. I mean, I'd still love it if there wasn't a Part 2 though - as a song the tactic works bizarrely well, you find yourself paying lots of attention to the subtleties in her tone and inflection to find a CLUE as to how it will all pan out.

The will.i.am track is fantastic too, I hadn't heard it before and have immediately downloaded it. It had better be massive. When did he become such a good producer, anyway? Because he really is now, he has a really nice signature sound and it's pretty inventive too - loving the bomb explosion beats in the third verse. I am enjoying this as counterpoint to Keri Hilson's 'Hands & Feet' (GOD this needs to be released NOW), which goes "well you got big feet, and you got big hands, so I already know what's up in your pants; where'd you get that from? YO' DADDY! where'd you get that from? YO' DADDY!"

On a related note I am really loving the sudden er explosion of r&b girlz shamelessly singing about cock - Xtina does it on 'Candyman' plus of course the chorus of that Nicole Scherzinger single going "something 'bout that cock" really blatantly.
