Who did perform the JD song out of interest?

Sub-question: has anyone ever done a useful cover of it?

New Order today WOULD make LWTUA sound worse than it actually is. They seem to manage 'Transmission' better though.

I like Squarepusher's cover of it but I would not say that this is at all useful. Ditto Nouvelle Vague.

obv. the correct answer is Paul Young.

that's not a useful cover.

HOWEVER: his song about wherever he lays his hat, that's his home = useful, 'cos, you know, it's a handy point of reference. "where is my home? Oh! it's over there! with my hat."

If Curtis hadn't offed himself he could've covered 'Toast' in response. :(

i read that as "offered"

actually, that was a cover that really interested me. I don't think it's any good, and I love the original, but I like PY's interpretation of its meanings better than Marvin Gaye's original.
