Can't pin down why exactly. I can't remember a band quite so obviously incompetent and unsaleable receiving any level of hype - maybe that was it. Anyway I ticked them.

I think I missed the hype and got straight to the huge backlash - I actually quite liked them even whilst laughing at them for having mullets (even though I wasn't quite sure why this was SO hilarious but I did it anyway)... I ticked them too!

The hype was very incongruous. They got an only slightly scaled down version of the best-new-band-in-Britain treatment and it was obvious that they were just....a shambly indie band. And it was also obvious that the NME had badly misjudged Ver Mood of Ver Kids after Britpop and that C86 style charming mullety hamfistedness wasn't going to do the business any time soon.

Poor old Tiger :(

YEP! And I've got it! I think I might even have sent off a POSTAL ORDER for it. And possibly for a tshirt of Jarvis flicking the VEES as well!

It featured Tiger, Dweeb, Bis, Urusei Yatsura ect. One for after the Shine Polls run their course I say.

But it spun off pretty quickly into the Scot-cliqueish thing - oh, Secret Goldfish too!!

I of course was a complete sucker for the whole lot of it, Mark Radcliffe was very bonkers on this sort of thing as well. So many sessions, so little time.
