Rock The Vote

Hillary Clinton is running a poll on her website to discover which song she should use for her 2008 presidential campaign. But never mind what Hillary fans think... what do Poptimists think she should use?

[Poll #986501]

Any other suggestions of suitable Hillary songs? That's what the Comments are for.

Jesus Jones, on the grounds that it would be funny.

I'll Take You There

"There" being a state of war with any former client states who aren't doing what we tell them anymore.

Surely the U2 nominee should be "How to Dismantle Atomic Obama"

(sorry)

"Suddenly I See" is an unusual choice - not an enormous US hit, not particularly inspirational (musically or lyrically), and focused a little too much on "you can see she's a beautiful girl."

"Beautiful Day" seems like it should be for a Republican candidate, as in "it's a beautiful day" right now, "don't let it get away." Again, the verses aren't that inspirational.

"Get Ready" is a suprisingly good campaign song for a female candidate. Plus it's the best song on the list, even if it's a little Big Chill-ish (which would appeal to her demographic anyway).

"Right Here Right Now" = oh the hilarity

I had not realised how amazing that *NSync song is as a campaign song until JUST NOW when I was listening to it. I AM VERY EXCITED NOW.

I'm half-tempted to run for an Assembly seat somewhere now next time (or, well, Parish Council at least) and use that as my song. It would be, obviously, amazing.

I was, in fact, so incredibly excited that I didn't realise that question was not 'specify your 'other' for Hilary!' Whoops.

Gordon using that song would also be REALLY AWESOME, though.

For mine, there is no situation that cannot be made better by playing Shania Twain's perky stadium-filling country anthems at full bore. WE GONNA ROCK! THIS COUNTRY! AH-OOOOO!

im interested that shania is once again on the vangard on the mainstreaming of country.
