Jop Tournament Procrastination Update Special

I rly rly cannot get my head round this presentation I'm editing, so I'm taking a 5 minute break and posting

Seeded Tracks On Their Way Out (by current voting totals)

4. Destinys Child - "Say My Name" (vs Joy Division)
7. Beyonce ft Jay-Z - "Crazy In Love" (vs "Push It")
15. Nelly Furtado - "Maneater" (vs Genie in A Bottle, this one very close)
17. Prince - "When Doves Cry" (vs New Order)
20. Britney Spears - "Oops I Did It Again" (vs Vogue)
23. Outkast - "Ms Jackson" (vs Cameo)
24. Destiny's Child - "Independent Women Pt 1" (vs "Bootylicious" in fact!)
26. Blondie - "Call Me" (vs Kate Bush, may well swing back)
27. En Vogue - "My Lovin (Never Gonna Get It)" (vs Nirvana)
28. TLC - "No Scrubs" (vs GnR)
29. Prince - "Raspberry Beret" (vs Sister Sledge)

Beyonce/DC love somewhat brittle, it seems!

The ones I'm really going to miss are "Ms. Jackson" and "My Lovin'," though as I recall I voted against the latter and maybe even against the former (I forget what they were going against). I also recall Bouncy/DC getting really tough draws, though again I forget which.

"Call Me" is not going to beat k8.

Debbie is beating Kate by one vote!

This is why I should not become a tout.

I'm gonna miss "Miss Jackson" and "When Doves Cry". As long as "Genie in a Bottle" holds on I'll be happy though.

Prince Is The Big Ten Of Poptimists

Prince is the Big Ten of Poptimists. (The Big Ten is a midwest college sports league that always gets a lot of teams in the NCAA basketball tournament with everyone raving about how strong the league is this year, and then most of the teams get wiped out in the first round.)

4. Destinys Child - "Say My Name" (vs Joy Division)
27. En Vogue - "My Lovin (Never Gonna Get It)" (vs Nirvana)
28. TLC - "No Scrubs" (vs GnR)

unforgivable and indefensible and heartbreaking

Both 4 and 7 are overrated! I didn't tick either in the canon poll (although they are still #1 and #2 in that poll at the mo).

Was there much seeded rawk that wasn't Prince? For values of rawk that include Bernard Sumner (ie indie).

Oh, right, it's listed up top so you don't need to list again.

I only agree with two of those - I love Ms Jackson, but love Word Up even more, and similarly for Sister Sledge over Raspberry Beret. Maybe Vogue ahead of Oops and Bootylicious ahead of Independent Women too, possibly. Beyond those, I am at risk of turning into Lex.
