MOBOs

So Lemar wins Best UK Male AGAIN for the millionth time, beating Sway who was probably my favourite artist out of all the nominees last night. Bouncy got booed for not turning up, Rhianna sang like a drowning cat and Gina Yashere & Coolio gave Sam Fox & Mick Fleetwood a run for their money in the bad presenting stakes.

So, should the MOBOs be put out of their misery?

(Hurrah for Black Eyed Peas winning best group tho!)

I had totally forgotten this was happening. Does anyone take any notice of these anymore? Except 1extra I suppose whose entire output this week has presumably been premised on them.

My interview with Akala was in thelondonpaper yesterday! And he ended up winning!

Of all the various corporate awards around this is the best because at least most of the nominees and performers are good. Infinitely preferable to Brits/Mercuries nonsense. Lemar still terrible though.
Kudos for giving much-maligned Beyoncé video respect - I think it's the video of the year!

Haha to be honest so were Kanye and Sway and Kano, but it's a good underdog-winning story and he's a very nice young man and it makes me look good, so, am happy.

You clearly didn't pick up thelondonpaper last night then!

Busta's video is great but it doesn't have Beyoncé LOSING HER MIND in it.

I've said this before, but the MOBOs have not, to the best of my knowledge, given any of their 'lifetime achievement' and similar awards to James Brown, Lee Perry, Little Richard, Ike Turner, Aretha Franklin, Chuck Berry, Al Green, Jimmy Cliff, Bo Diddley and so on and on, instead choosing to honour for his career's contribution to the history of black music... Mick Hucknall. It's hard to retain any credibility after that.

If I have to hear one more 'Why do they not have Music of White Origin? That's RACIST...', I'm going to record a blues album under the name of Blind Justice Harman.

I quite like the MOBOs from a work perspective because they cover it all day on the news and I can spend my time looking up song lyrics. Which is better than Hezbollah. FACT.
