MP3 Corner

First of all - THE SEVENTIES

"Wildfire" as discussed yesterday, I had misremembered the song slightly, it's obvious from the beginning that she is AN GHOST and also I had hallucinated a chorus due to Wildfire's spooky powers, still though, VIVA DEAD PONIES as they say. Quite a sturdy dead pony if it's carrying them both off at the end, I am imagining some Thelwell-eseque plumper.

"Signs" by the Five Man Electrical Band - this is what all other 70s pop was like, pseudo-hippie nonsense about how there are SIGNS everywhere put up by the MAN telling the KIDS what to DO. Should be revived by One Arctic Monkeys.

And now - THE NOT-SEVENTIES

tATU - "Robot", a great pop tune from the Russian version of their first album, it goes "Robot robot robot robot" over some frankly boshin' beats.

URBAN DEBUSSY BEAT - this is "Be Happy" by Mary J Blige.

Special Bonus Track: this was the final song we played at the last Poptimism. If you were there you'll know what it is. If you weren't there then prepare to be moved.

As soon as I saw the filename of the SPECIAL BONUS TRACK I was going "please, please, please be THAT" and when it was I think I nearly died. Of pure happiness. Though I do wish it were a filter-house cover!

ALSO! Read this (http://www.tatyak.com/askyulia.html) before listening to Robot.

Yeh, that 'Signs' song was covered by late eighties hair metal band Skid Row, and played on MTV Europe quite a bit at the time. Terrible. (Wildfire's great tho)
