...So what do people use to find the poptimistic stuff? ssk is not forthcoming with, oh S club jrs and A1 and Juliet and Son of Dork and the Veronicas.

Suggestions?

Emule and Limewire are a LOT better for pop than slsk.

Yeah, seconded on limewire. If you want a new pop single it is tops, BUT can be riddled with buggered-up files.

Limewire seconded. I think slsk is probably over. For me, anyway. I haven't have a decent search on there for ages.

The beta version of slsk is so much better for search it isn't funny, even if (or perhaps because) there's 1/20th the users. I've not tried to use it for new stuff, just random old pop gannetism, though I did find the Tatu album there very quickly.

I do agree with byebyepride above though, that Limewire is often riddled with the e-pox. Make sure you have a good anti virus. I'm pretty sure the last time my computer fell apart it was through some dodgy Limewire grabs.

The large majority of viruses attack PCs and don't affect Macs. Don't assume that you are therefore safe from viruses! If you have reputable anti-virus software that is updated regularly, the risk is extremely small.

I use BitDefender, which the man in the shop said was good.

I worry now; is it?
