Dude, seriously, this insistence on the Purity of Pop is the indiest of your many stances.

This has less to do with Pop vs Indie than Right vs Wrong. I don't care if Placebo are pop or indie or whatever, they are WRONG and I want to HURT THEM BADLY for desecrating Lovely K8.

Brian Molko is a bit of a weed, you could probably take him.

I downloaded them all, mostly on the basis Placebo covering Kate Bush sounded like a brilliant idea for a carwreck but, uh, actually... it's rather good.

The 'Common People' cover is terrible! What the hell is that?!

William Shatners Common People is brilliant you mentalist! I think purely sonically I prefer it to the Pulp one.

I wouldn't say it "spoils" the song in any way, but in the US at least Willie Nelson's version of "Always On My Mind" was huge. Tthose 70s/early 80s country-pop crossovers were (see also Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers) had the kind of omnipresence that we now associate with Britney. So it's very difficult not to hear it under the PSB version if you grew up with it.

(Yeesh. Sorry about all the typos!)

I totally love the Willie Nelson version, even more than the PSB version.

that mp3 of 'always on my mind' is 4 mins. it finishes after 3 with some weird sound - what is that?
