Girl turn your rekkids off

March - a bumper month for Top 40 hits with quite a few great ones but even more appalling ones. Go do.

With The College Dropout even though there was some totally ace stuff not released as a single, all the singles were Proper Singles - none of them were underwhelming in any way. Whereas while I do like 'Touch The Sky' (and the one with Maroon 5 bloke) - wtf? It's an album track through and through.

WTF! 'Touch The Sky' samples an incredibly well-know and popular song and has a ridiculously upbeat, triumphant vibe. It's basically Kanye as Puff Daddy, for better or for worse - therefore inevitably a single.

And it has a grebt video with Evil Kanyevil.

What incredibly well-known and popular song?! I don't recognise the sample!

Curtis Mayfield. Don't worry Lex! Do you know who the Black Eyed Peas sample on Pump It?

I've never heard 'Pump It', sadly.
