Here We Go Again

It's the Stylus singles jukebox!!

I am glad to see ARSE BRUTE MORE LIKE in the bottom half. Not out of a specific distaste for their rekkid, which I gave a 4, but because I feared that it might do rather well. My fellow 'boxers, it seems I underestimated you.

"Damn you, Art Brut, for in song you lead the life I wish I could lead. Damn you, I say."

I'm learning to love John Cameron.

It comes as no surprise to me that John Cameron isn't British.

I'm not sure whether that's good or bad.

Zenith: Thanks! You're A-OK too!

It is neither! But it means you don't have to be in close proximity to Art Brut or people like them ie British indie kids ie THE HORROR.

Dear Dr. Pop

What is the difference between Art Brut and Hard-Fi and the Kaiser Chiefs?

There is a girl in Art Brut.

I gave them an 8. Am I going to be killed

"Mad" John Cameron really is the Alex In NYC of indie.

[identity profile] johnnyctunes.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Over here, we prefer "loco." It's more multicultural.

...who's Alex In NYC?

[identity profile] braisedbywolves.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the fact that nearly everyone agrees on the standout line from the song, and it's used as ammunition equally on both sides.

Though I can't really read Alex talking about "self-respecting females" or "nauseating lines" without thinking "you liked Wait!", it's become his signature flaw for me.

[identity profile] alexmacpherson.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That Art Brut line isn't nauseating cos it's sexist (I don't think it is), it's nauseating cos it's deeply unsexy, and pathetic, and HORRIBLY delivered. 'Wait' isn't that sexy either (more like cartoon sex) but is at least funny.

Indie kids, proper indie kids AREN'T SEXY... thats the point! We are are pale asexual creatures who wouldn't know a booty from er something else.
