Congratulations to the most successful band in UK chart history

Ladies and gentlemen, the Quo

Most boggling statistics here - REM and the Manics have had over 35 hit singles EACH! Slowly declining fanbases are the limescale of the charts.

When I was working at MFI head offices for a few weeks, I helped arrange delivery of a new kitchen for Ali Campbell.

That Quo single is really good, for what it's worth.

Well, in comparison to what else we had to sit through in the jukebox this week.

dude I gave six songs either 9 or 10, it was a bloody good week at the top.

Yes, but then: Melua, Bon Jovi, Crow, Jamesy P.

all of those are better than the quo (all received 3 or less). cuntum, however, is very much not.

I think Melua was the worst this week, even worse than Cullum (although I have both 0). Sadly technically difficulties prevented me getting my blurbs in...

I'd sort of assumed, on no particular evidence, that REM are still rock monsters, and their singles are bought and enjoyed by many thousands of people without ever particularly impinging on me (though that one with the forwards-backward video was ace). And given a year or so, I could probably write down at least 30 of the REM singles, in marked contrast to a dozen or so Manics ones.

Oh I'm not surprised that when the Manics squeeze out another single someone will buy it, I just wasn't aware that there were three dozen of them.

Er, unless you're talking about R.E.M.

even i don't buy manics singles no more, but i could list the vast majority of them in order, with b-sides probably...
