I really really really don't want to switch my vote to Santogold. But I do encourage others to do so if they deem it appropriate, and I will if it becomes absolutely necessary. DO NOT MAKE ME DO THIS. I will have weird feelings and such.

TBH Vampire Weekend isn't a bad album by any stretch, even if I did file it under my delete from hard drive section after some flip-flopping. I just don't want it to "say something" about something. Or something.

I like the idea of the VW coup but I feel about Kanye and Santogold like you do about VW! ie they're not bad albums, both have at least three GREAT songs on them (as well as some v ill-conceived ideas), but I don't want them to "say anything" about anything.

Well, I feel the same. And specifically about those two albums (Kanye and Santi), which is distressing. However, I do think Kanye is the lesser of three evils! Or, maybe most interesting of three aggravators?

Santogold is probably the least "problematic", ie the most straightforwardly GOOD of the three - but half of her album is kind of bad.

I think my inevitable outraged post-mortem will have a great deal more moral weight behind it if VW win: it will force people to take a LONG HARD LOOK at themselves.
