They are much stricter than Modern Orthodoxy. In M.O., you can basically talk to and fraternize with women. You still can't touch each other (the law is called shomer negiah), but you can socialize in every other way. In Charedi Judaism, you aren't even supposed to talk to or look at someone of the opposite gender.
