I am cross with E17 bcs the Walthamstow Stadium was a place of CHILDHOOD WONDERMENT and they ruined it with their stupid lame crappy pop. I HATED ALL POP AT THE TIME. I still kind of hate E17, even though I did the ticks :(

God Bless You Mr Mortimer

"I wanna rough, I wanna tumble, I wanna do it till my belly rumbles"
"Nation against nation, LIKE PLANETS THEY COLLIDE"
"So many bombs in the world it's like a livin' mine!"

& "Stay Another Day" is just beautiful, best boyband ballad of all time possibly.

WTF did the tall one with the earrings actually DO in East 17? And the short one who wasn't Brian Harvey?

'Deep' was my first ever CD single :)

'If You Ever' - the original (by a US r&b boy band called...Shai? Or something) was better but it's a gorgeous song and they didn't fuck it up.

This is the first canon ever where I have not even heard of the band in question.

FUTURE CANONS (actually maybe they've already been done): Roxette, Phil Collins/Genesis

One of my friends at college had a HUGE crush on Tony Mortimer (this must've been around 1993/94 and she was about 21 so this is kind of embarrassing for her). I have to say I didn't see it myself but then I suppose he is the lesser of 4 evils in the E17 hunk stakes.

Loved this lot at the time, but man, these songs haven't dated well except "Stay Another Day", "It's Alright" and "Deep".

Ugliest boyband ever?

Very possibly.

I think House of Love has this one sewn up but there are other mini-House of Loves AKA It's Alright, Steam that are almost as good.

It will not let me fill in the poll. :(

If you want to know the sad case who ticked "Do You Still", and can't be botherd to look at answers, um, it was me. I'm sorry.

Between Habitat on Kensington High St and Hyde Park, actually the next bus stop up from the high st, you can still see a faint EAST 17 logo sprayed onto a wall. I have a picture somewhere, which I cannot be bothered to dig out.
