I'm sure Sonar is amazing but nothing is better than muddy Pilton.

Oh come on there is absolutely no comparison!

1. Beach in Spain vs Mud in Somerset
2. Glorious sunshine vs Rain
3. Everyone wearing not very much vs Everyone wearing wellies
4. Set in awesome vibrant cultural centre ft amazing architecture vs Set in cultural black hole ft mud shacks and cows
5. Civilised sleeping under roofs vs Nasty smelly tents
6. Attended by fun-loving ravers and hipsters from across Europe vs Attended by Fifty Quid Bloke and hippies
7. Ellen Allien headlining vs Oasis headlining
8. Rave rave rave rave rave rave vs Indie and other such "live bands"

1. Okay, you might have a point here
2. Too bloody hot to be drinking all day
3. Girls in wellies = hot
4. Set in valley with amazing scenery though!
5. Peversely, I rather like tents
6. Ravers > Hippies >>>>> Hipsters >>>>>> Fifty Quid Bloke. But there are loads of Glasto ravers.
7. Basement Jaxx headlining vs Ellen Allien headlining
8. MUCH RAVE at Glastonbury.

Also, Ellen Allien actually played Glastonbury last year! I know because I saw her.

1. Indeed I do
2. Not at all actually
3. Surely girls wearing not very much = hotter, or am I misunderstanding the straight man's brain
4. I spent my adolescence in Somerset; the impact of the scenery has long worn off. I actually don't feel comfortable unless I have concrete beneath my feet
5. Perversely is bloody right you DEVIANT
6. Sónar wins through lack of Fifty Quid Bloke
7. Ellen Allien > Basement Jaxx in 2006 and prob 2007 too
8. No indie at Sónar!

Also Sónar has a lot more opportunities for Teh Swimming! Or Teh Paddling if you are me and cannot swim

[identity profile] awesomewells.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Why am I actually surprised that you can't swim?

Anyway, plenty of paddling opportunities at Glasto - look! (http://mikami.image.pbase.com/v3/49/538049/4/45558735.jpg)

Sónar by all accounts has plenty of Fifty Quid Man, that being the noted used to hoover up the Bolivian Marching Powder.

This is possibly actually why Glasto wins: Cocaine on one hand vs all the other drugs in the other.

In those circumstances Fifty Quid Man becomes more than acceptable esp if providing the powder of which you speak.

I bumped into a friend on the second day of Sónar last year - she was like, "omg I have been taking ketamine ever since I got here", I was like "how long have you been here", she was like "OH SHIT I HAVE NO IDEA". Then I was like, "let's go raving" and she was like "yeah!".
