If there's not, this is it. Audio Orgafun continues at Freaky Trigger in the Europop 2008 competition, and the League Of Pop may return in the Autumn or Winter.

Since there's no Podcast Panel until Wednesday, what better time to put up the two* remaining fites in the Pop Open!

How to play? Easy: go to http://freakytrigger.co.uk/ft/2008/02/pop-open-week-231/ and listen to the tracks. Then pick which from each pair (7 vs 8 and 9 vs 10) you prefer, and vote accordingly. EXCEPT - if you already know a track you cannot vote for it, you can only abstain in its favour.

The winners of these will go through to the final, which will be a special week of the Podcast Panel, voting on each of the finalists' songs in turn. They will join mackromackro, lockedintheatti and stevem78 (who knocked byebyepride out in the little-noticed Round 3.3 vote.

Pop Open Results Update

There will be the final Pop Open post of the year up tomorrow with TWO duels, but a quick RESULTS post of the last one.

The Kasia Stankiewicz track beat the Stars one, though it was a bit tighter than the first Round 3 bout. Congratulations to lockedintheatti who is through to the next round. Commiserations to piratemoggy who is OUT.

OK - here's where things get a tiny bit more complicated.

Round 3 of the Pop Open involves 6 one-on-one knockout competitions between anonymised tracks submitted by the competitors.

As before, you can't vote for a song you already know. BUT if you know one song and hate the other, you don't have to vote for that. You can ABSTAIN in favour of one song or the other and it doesn't matter if you know it or not.
If the votes are tied, I will count the abstentions - otherwise, they won't count.

Results for the 00s group - good turnout and very close:

Here are the results for the 70s group - turnout down a bit in part because of the shortened voting time I guess (and relative lack of reminders). Still a close group though (well, past the clear winner)! Congratulations to the qualifiers, commiserations to the losers, thank you all for playing. 80s up tomorrow (if my PC is working).

This week's Pop Open group is themed around "the sixties" - though as before, this doesn't necessarily mean all tracks will be from the 60s.
