Indie After All

Stylus jukebox, Arcade Fire wins it, I am the only person to see genius in the Rasmus single.

I have a bunch of MP3 requests to fill and will give it a shot tonight, incidentally.

The radio version of "Wait" came on Radio 1 this morning. Jo Whiley said afterwards "I spent the first minute of that praying I'd not played the dirty version".

Dom Passantino hates all music!

Stylus won't load for me :( Can someone copy and paste and gmail it?

What is the radio version of 'Wait' anyway, an instrumental?

Haha. Is it the original or one of the remixes (with eg Jacki-O or Missy Elliott) that gets played?

I want to see what other people said about it, BAH to computers!

Thanks!

I am glad my Arcade Fire blurb didn't get published. My indie shame will remain secret.

I stand by my Devendra Banhart review!

It involved doing a drug-fuelled conga to that Arcade Fire song last Monday night at Trash :(

Does it sound like The video (http://www.tvtrecords.com/video/2520/v2520_1_01_320x240.mov)?

Lex, check your mail.

So the Arcade Fire is an anthemic piano house record", wot? I have never heard them, knowingly, I don't think, but I never expected that.

Hats off for the Wait write-ups, good and bad--it's been around for ages now but, still, I can't get out a coherent sentence on the thing. I'm not sure if it's a simple love it or hate it thing--hating almost seems an admit of defeat [this argument against hiphop has been around forever] but it is almost too repellent to love.

I quite like it.

I gave the Ying Yang Twins an 8, and drew comparisons between the current Southern rap scene and the blue comedy boon of the 1980s (Lil Jon = Bernard Manning, Mike Jones = Jethro, YYT= Jim Davidson). Will cut that blurb. He also cut my blurb suggest that Devandra's voice would be better suited to internet child molestation legend Brian Peppers, and the one hoping that Arcade Fire dude didn't have any more relatives waiting to drop dead so he could write another song about them.

"You see, if I was editor, this is the kind of failed attempt at cuteness that I’d be killing off on day one."

I apologize for my country.

I actually quite like the Rasmus single, it's just that it's worse than every song on "Dead Letters", and most of the ones off "Into" as well. I'm glad that my FAVOURITE band of cartoon Finnish goths' (i.e. HIM) new single is a corker though.
